Today, Jewel Changi Airport (Jewel) gives the crowds the chance to sneak into a one-of-a-kind lifestyle destination. The 135,700-square-meter complex, built on the site of the former Terminal 1 open car park, is designed by Moshe Safdie’s famous world architect and has its own dome-shaped fauna. It will offer both locals and international visitors a multi-faceted experience that includes attractions, unique shopping and dining concepts, as well as airport and lodging facilities.

Visitors to Jewel can see new brands from Singapore to Singapore including Emac & Bolio, JW360˚, Lavender, Pokémon Center and OYSHO Singapore who will open their first store alongside local favorites like In Good Company, Supermama Lab and Tiger Street. These local retailers, designers and craftsmen are given the opportunity to build a retail theater to share the story of the nation with the world. Jewel also has a local brand dedicated retail cluster at Level 1 intended to be a one stop shop for travelers wishing to bring home a piece of Singapore.

Various retail formats are present at Jewel, including duplexes, outdoor terraces and spaces within the top-notch Canopy Park. Several brands that are set up such as
Nike Solo, and Tiger Street Lab will also offer new concepts as well as exclusive items for Jewel.

HSBC Rain Vortex 40 meters, the highest covered waterfall in the world, will welcome visitors when entering Jewel. The surroundings are well maintained areas of the Shiseido Forest Valley.

Playgrounds like Hedge Maze, Mirror Maze , Manulife Sky Nets, and Discovery Slides are designed to blend into a unique interior garden setting and will open on June 10, 2019.

Coming May 2019, Changi Experience Studio at Level 4 will bring visitors to the fun and discovery journey through Changi Airport’s virtual world with interactive games, projection experience, immersive exhibitions and gallery exhibits.

Capacity building at Changi Airport

In conjunction with Jewel development, Terminal 1 Changi has also been extended to increase capacity by three million passenger movements a year. This brings the entire airport’s capacity to 85 million, ensuring it remains good to support the growth of air travel in the region.

As part of the focus of the Changi Airport which continues to provide passenger facilities, airport facilities have also been added to Jewel. These include an early check-in counter and a kiosk, luggage storage service and Changi Lounge, a 150-seater seating area with shower facilities, offering smooth transfers for passengers connecting to and from cruise and ferry services.

Jewel will also be the first YOTELAIR property in Asia. With 130 smartly designed cabins that optimize space in the Premium, Accessible and Family cabin, these rooms can be booked at least four hours, suitable for short day or night stay. YOTELAIR also has an avant-garde self-styled kiosk that will simplify the process of easy check-in.
